MAPS is a fast and efficient full service dermatopathology laboratory. MAPS will prepare your slides for you to read or for our Board Certified Dermatologist/Dermatopathologist to read. The lab can process virtually any stain available to provide the most accurate diagnosis. The Dermatopathologist is always available for direct consult on unusual or difficult cases.

Slide Preparation
MAPS lab technicians process specimens quickly and efficiently. The lab processes a significant volume of slides for technical component billing only, whereby the slides are returned to the referring physician for reading. The reading physician then bills the professional component. Processed slides and blocks are cataloged and stored according to standards established by the government.
Consults
Our dermatopathologists are available for direct consultation on any case where the referring physician would like a second opinion. As dermatology trained dermatopathologists, this understanding helps make an accurate diagnosis, from the routine case to the most unusual or difficult case.To ensure the quickest turnaround times possible, MAPS utilizes an employed courier for daily weekday specimen pick-ups in the Indianapolis area. For clients outside of the Indianapolis market, pre-paid overnight UPS delivery is provided with MAPS supplying all the necessary packing
